The setting is the American West in 1846. You place farmers and buildings in Oregon and compete for points. On your turn you play two terrain cards. Their combination names a row and a column of the board. Near that crossing you place a farmer, or you build a building. A building scores for each adjacent farmer. Here is the catch: the other players' farmers count too. A building you raise for yourself can feed an opponent's score. Coal and gold tiles come from mines. The actions are simple, but the fight over placement is rich. A mid-weight euro by the Norwegian Berg couple.
